1. turntable
Otherwise known as the “lazy susan”.
Why we love them:
Looking for a solution for all of those pantry items getting lost in the back of a cabinet, or condiments hanging out in the dark corners of the fridge? Then this is your answer. Using a turntable allows you to access all of the contents, not just what is in the front. They are so versatile, we use them all over the house, but the kitchen is one of our favorites.
where to use them:
cabinets - especially corner areas
pantries - again, perfect for the corners
to hold spice jars
in the fridge
great to hold a variety of snacks
where to buy them:
2. Spice jars with matching labels
why we love them:
If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to give your kitchen a put-together look, then this is the project for you. Transferring your spices to matching glass bottles and then using pre-printed labels to give them a cohesive look is so easy, you don’t even have to be a pro organizer to tackle this. Once the spices are in uniform jars, you’ll be able to find what you’re looking for so much easier, and they will fit in the space much easier than having a bunch of containers that are all different sizes and shapes.
where to use them:
drawers - just add this riser
cabinets - you can use this tiered shelf so you can see everything at once
turntable - see above!
where to buy them:
Amazon:
My favorite labels
3. fridge organizing containers
why we love them:
Who doesn’t want to open their fridge to see all of their groceries beautifully organized? Besides being so nice to look at, having the right containers in your refrigerator means you’ll be maximizing the space and using each shelf most efficiently. Using stacking bins and drawers means you can use all the wasted vertical space, and long deep bins help to use the full depth as well. Bonus: taking your fruits, veggies, and snacks out of the original packaging and putting them in clear bins means you’ll SEE what you have, and in the end, you will use it more. I promise!
what to use:
Stacking drawers, long open bins, egg containers, turntables, and containers to hold soda cans are some of our favorite things to use. Bins that are specific for fruits and vegetables, and have a perforated bottom to keep the water/condensation from them, means they will last much longer.
where to buy them:
Amazon:
Egg container: we like these, these, and these…depending on your space
Long bins, great for kid’s pouches and snacks

4. decanting containers
why we love them:
We love to decant pantry items for a few reasons:
Putting perishable items into air-tight containers will definitely keep them fresh and usable for much longer. You know your kids just leave chip bags open and don’t close the cereal boxes properly ;-p
Transferring things to clear containers that all match (and are hopefully labeled) makes it SO much easier to see what you have at a glance. When you keep everything in the original packaging, who knows if that bag of flour is full or has a few Tablespoons left in it.
If you see it you use it! If everyone can see the dried fruit, nuts, and crackers you have, they will be so much more inclined to grab those, than grab the individually wrapped snacks and bars.
It looks so nice!!
how to use them:
Baking items - flours, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, etc. This will help keep things fresh if you only do a few baking projects per year.
Snacks - as we mentioned above, decanting all of those healthy snack options (dried fruits, nuts, crackers, etc) means everyone can SEE them when they are grabbing snacks. If those things stay tucked away on a shelf in a bag, they might not ever see the light of day.
Cooking ingredients - rice, grains, pasta, legumes, etc. What’s worse than going to the store and not remembering if you have pasta so you buy another box…only to realize when you get home that you have 3 others tucked away in the pantry. Decanting your cooking ingredients means you’ll be able to see what you have, and what you’re running low on so much easier. Bonus: this means you’ll be saving $$$
where to buy them:
Amazon:
Glass containers with bamboo lids
Large food storage containers - great for bulk flour and grains
